lakes high visit

On   September  the year 8 from mokoia went to lakes highs open day. It was about 9:30 when we starting walking up to lakes high and we got there at about 9:45. When we got there we had to get into our groups, i was in group b and after we got sorted our group leaders came over and introduced themselves.There names were Tobby and Rebecca. We did alot of rotations like art,cooking,gym,maths,science and languages. My favorites were cooking and gym. For cooking we made yummy chocolates and we dipped biscuits into chocolate and sprinkles. My other favorite was gym, because we played this game called pirates. How to play the game is you have to stay on the yellow line and theres like 5 taggers witch are called the pirates and you run around and like you can climb the ropes go through bars jump on the trampoline. We also did art and we made this cool drawing thing. After that we did science this was really cool but discussing at the same time. the teacher got out a dears eyeball and started cutting it up and looking at the different parts of the eyeball. Then we did maths and we had to answer questions and got puzzle pieces and made it into a puzzle. Our last thing was languages we just like played games and learned diffrent ways to say hello. Over all i had a great time.

devon

This week Devon came over to our school to compete for the Richard Thomson trophy. yesterday we played our own sports to win the trophy and i was so happy because mokoia won yay yay yay! First it was mixed basket ball and year 8 B netball. The mixed basket ball won 68/26 and the year 8 B won 28/12. Then it was year 8 A netball which was 34/8 to us and the year 7 A won 28/5 there was also girls soccer. Last there was boys soccer 2-1 and rugby 68/23 that was the only thing we lost but we all had a great time.

speeches

Last week our school had to do speeches. We all individually had to write our own speech, my speech was on animal cruelty. The time had to be approximately 3 to 5 minutes long, my speech ended up being 3:05 which was lucky. After everyone finishes doing there speech to the class the teacher goes away and picks 2 people out of our class. In the end Anais m and Finn got through.

Storm breaker

Biking through the streets getting shot at, and following the tracks of his Uncle Ian rider. This is the movie we watched on Monday the 1^st of July.

The characters in the movie were really good actors and my favourite would have to be Alex rider. His real name is Alex pettyfyer and he is the main character in the movie storm breaker.

I think the movie was really interesting. It was an adventurous and action movie. Once you started watching the start you would never want to turn or look away because its that amazing.

I thought the movie was very action packed. One of my favourite parts of the movie was when the evil guy was about to shoot Alex rider and he was standing on the edge of the tall building. I recommend this movie for kids my age.

In the end I think this movie was very awesome and I enjoyed it. So I hope you enjoyed my report on my report on storm breaker.

family food and fun fair

Yesterday 4th of april our school had a family food and fun fair. Its when each class desighns a game and at the end you see who gets the most tickets. My favourite game was the mystery game cause you got to win lots of lollies i had great fun.

SPCA

Yestaday on the 26th of March Norm Hewitt cam to our school to talk on behalf of the SPCA to talk about animal cruelty and how much we should care about our animals. He also talk about his life and his family, he shared how much he loved his family and his animals. He was really funny and i enjoyed it.
